Arkansas Times was expanding beyond its flagship weekly publication and needed new titles that could reach distinct audiences while still feeling connected to the larger brand. Several existing publications also needed stronger pacing, typography and visual identities.
Treat each publication as its own editorial experience. The individual titles needed personalities that matched their subjects while sharing the independence, local perspective and cultural relevance associated with Arkansas Times.
I created the first editions of Bike Arkansas and Paddle Arkansas, helped develop Arkansas Food & Farm and redesigned Arkansas Wild. I directed editorial layouts and photography, designed identities and advertising and established stronger standards across magazines, special sections, promotions and events.
Each publication developed a clearer identity and a more engaging experience for readers and advertisers. The work expanded the Arkansas Times publication family while raising the overall quality and consistency of its editorial design.
